Friendship vs The World announced by Jimjum Studios
The developers behind the adorable, community-building game Communite — where players are all contributing to a joint world, solving quests, and having fun — have announced their second game: Friendship vs The World. This new game aims to be a wholesome yet chaotic 1-to-4 player game that takes inspiration from the worlds of Overcooked and Plants vs Zombies. It looks frantic, funny, and like it may be a new iteration of tower defence.
Instead of cooking up tasty treats or placing plants, you and your friends need to use the power of friendship to defend your base against increasingly bizarre challenges. Together you can grab resources, use them to build characters who then will move forward and defend you. Friendship vs The World looks like a unique, silly, and fun concept. Some of the enemies include CEOs (I do hope to see landlords as well!) which emerge from a portal of darkness.
There are three types of units to craft and master: warriors, slingshot rangers, and tanks. These each play slightly differently, based on what they do, one with a close-up attacking, another with ranged, and another with a lot of resistance!
The sort of games that JimJum Studios release feel so distinct in their identity, with a core spirit of friendship tying everything in them together. I very much love the look of this multiplayer game, which seems to take a known formula, but bring something truly new looking into it. I do hope that they release a demo soon… and it’s worth noting that their games are always cross platform, so you can play with your friends even if they are on a different device.
Friendship vs The World currently doesn’t have a fixed release date yet, but is one to keep your eye on if you like multiplayer games and a bit of fun chaos. You can currently wishlist it on Steam.
