Description
Canal Houses is a quick game of hand drafting which has 2-4 players construct houses along a canal to score points. Players build their decks, play a card and then pass their hands to their left, opening up plenty of strategic sabotage elements while also keeping the focus on building early combos. Each turn has each players take cards from one of three decks: Stores, Windows or Roofs, and players can even discard a card into the canal rather than playing a card.
Quick to learn and beautiful to look at, Canal Houses takes about 15-20m to play and features more than enough cards that it can be played back to back to back with no repetition.
Canal Houses Publisher Description:
“Canal Houses is a light hand drafting game for 2-4 players where you build an idyllic set of canal houses. You build the houses using ‘bases’, ‘floors’ and ‘roofs’
Each turn, each player simultaneously chooses one card from their hand and builds it, using the rules detailed below.
After building their cards, each player passes the remaining three cards to the player on their left. After receiving a new hand of three cards from the player to their right, each player chooses a type of card (base, front, or roof) and draws one card of that type from the corresponding deck into their hand to refresh it to four cards.
A completed house consists of a base at the bottom, any number of front cards, and one roof at the top. When building a house, you must build from the bottom-up (starting with a base and ending with a roof). “
