Having a little kitty cat to look after, without having all of the real-life clean up or responsibility, is something that can be really tempting for those who love playing video games! Impawlse is a game where you have a little cat in its own little room, and, you can play mini-games with them to earn coins to spend on them!
The game itself is very simple; you’ve got a single room You can feed your cat, keep them clean, and play with them. Playing comes in the form of a mini-game, where you need to push your cat around a level, getting to the end door to move to the next. This sort of puzzle is one of the ones where you start moving in one direction and slide that way until you hit a wall, so you need to hit the right walls to end up getting to the end area.
There are tons of single coin paw prints to collect as well as golden paw prints that will give you ten coins as a bonus. As you move around the water, there is water that slowly starts appearing. As cats hate water, you will need to avoid the water in order to stay alive. You can actually play until you die three times or just exit when you are done. This mini-game is seemingly procedurally generated, with lots of different levels that you can play through! Some even have giant jelly that bounces you off and blocks off areas.
After you’ve earned some coins, you can purchase different items in Impawlse, including decorations, which are then placed in your little cat room. When playing the demo at Indie Dev Day, I purchased an arcade machine (of course!) and then a cool rock-star inspired cat appeared in the room to play with my current cat. I suddenly had two cats to look after! It seems to me like if you purchase enough items, you can end up getting a bunch of cats to play with.
Impawlse is cute andfeels bite-sized. The real fun comes in these mystery cats, that you might be able to collect up and keep in your little room.
