Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip is a whacky, open world adventure
Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip is one of those open world adventure games with tons of character and silly moments intertwined into the game itself. Terry is a simple guy, he just wants a car. Not a job, just a car, so has applied to be a taxi driver and starts off in the waiting room, waiting to be interviewed.
The conversations around you — learning that he wants a car are hilarious — like, literally made me giggle as I played the demo at Gamescom. It’s just so silly! You do have choices in your responses to people too, although it feels like it’s mainly there for flavour rather than depth. Once you do have your car, you are able to start driving around and exploring Terry’s hometown of Sprankelwater, at some speed! Well, until you crash or lose your car… then you need to walk everywhere.
There are tons of different interactions within the world. You can destroy other cars riding around, get pets, find other characters to interact with, catch bugs and so much more. In Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip, you will also be collecting Turbo Junk to upgrade features on your beloved car!
Driving around the world, meeting other characters, and interacting with a lot of the world feels incredibly fun. This feels like a playful, open world adventure that can entertain those young and old. Unlike open world games like Wobbly Life, the story itself can give you quests to give you direction and keep you on track.
The art style is quirky too, and just feels joyful, matching the narrative adventure that you can take part in. Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip just feels fun and well designed!
I got the chance to play a limited demo of the game, which currently has no release date, but you can wishlist it on Steam.
