Mini Boss Babble Episode 4: Part 6 – Powerstone 2 & New Retro
Mini Boss Babble are smaller, one topic cuts from our otherwise extensive weekly podcast.
In this, the final part of our fourth Big Boss Babble podcast, we discuss Powerstone 2, easily one of the most underappreciated fighting games, and one which could be relevant in this day of eSports and MLG.
Powerstone 2’s charm is strong, and Capcom already have a route into the competitive gaming scene with Street Fighter, argues Dann. However the subject soon shifts onto the (actually quite high) plausibility of the game making it to modern platforms via Sega’s recent efforts.
With that comes an answer to a question which wasn’t asked. What happens when a person born after the game launched (2000) plays the game for the first time and discovers a new type, and set, of games which no longer exist?
Recently illuminated Dreamcast fanatic Dann led the discussion while Terry, Jorge & Toby attempted to collect all of the Power Stones so they could defeat him in their enhanced forms.
