Rime Confirmed as Launching in May for PS4, PC, Xbox One & Switch; Trailer Within
Tequila Works’ Rime will be launching on all current gen systems, including Nintendo’s Switch, in May, the developer has confirmed.
Rime, from Tequila Works (Deadlight), was a PS4 exclusive up until the start of 2016 when Sony and Tequila Works parted ways. The developer later in the year fell silent after signing a contract with publisher and distributor combo Grey Box and Six Foot. Who -I should add- sound like pair villainous sidekicks from a Saturday morning cartoon.
In late December we reported that the title had been listed for multiple formats, following several outlets spotting a rating on a Brazilian ratings board.
The news was originally broken by IGN, who had an exclusive trailer for the title, as well as promise that we would hear about the reasons behind the Sony & Tequila Works split; however the trailer has now made the rounds, with the below one -I wouldn’t say ironically- embedded from Sony’s channel.
There’s also word of the game getting a physical release, with packshots for PS4 & Xbox One editions over on the official site, and an advisory launch date of May~ issued.
The game, for those who haven’t heard of it before, and haven’t compulsively started the trailer off, is a beautiful, cel-shaded platformer which sees a young child adventuring through ancient ruins and vast landscapes; it not only plays with scale, but also colour and contrast, making for a really enigmatic setting.
Rime will launch for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One & PC at some point in May.
