Latest Heat Signature Video Shows off Factions, Teleporters, and a ‘Mistake’ Mission
Tom Francis, of Suspicious Developments, has released a new video detailing the Factions -and a few other features- of their upcoming, stealth-action, mercenary sandbox title, Heat Signature.
Heat Signature, the latest title from Suspicious Developments (Gunpoint, Floating Point) has received a new video showing off some of the new features recently added to the title during the last few months.
The title, which was first shown off last Jun, has come a long way since the initial showcase video, with it recently gaining a more diverse selection of ships, as well as different ship motifs for the four factions that will be in the finished title. Each of the factions are of different mindsets; from the merciless corperate faction, to another who mastered teleportation but have found themselves drifting far from home. The faction’s ship designs reflect their history and nature; to expand on the examples, luxurious and functional, to cobbled-together but efficient.
In addition to showing off the four ship styles the video also shows off an example mission, touching on the diversity of the missions, as well as the extreme difficulty that comes with the ‘Mistake’ difficulty, and the fast thinking -and teleporting- that’ll be critical to being the best hijacker/mercenary/hitman/kidnapper that you want to be.
I remain impressed with the game’s smooth transition of scale, where you can go from dash-pummelling people with a wrench within a ship, straight out to a galactic scale in a matter of seconds. It’s also hard not to celebrate the diversity of tools at your disposal in doing your dirty work; of which I’m sure there’s more to come.
Heat Signature is in development for Windows PC, as of yet it doesn’t have a rough release window.
