The Holy Gosh Darn has you saving heaven!
I am not sure what I picture Heaven to be, but The Holy Gosh Darn has a version of heaven that can be destroyed, is primarily full of dogs, and has angels that haven’t even met God! It’s a wild place, and one that needs saving.
You play as a time-traveling angel called Cassiel, who needs to save Heaven from exploding after a bunch of phantom demons are let in by death himself. Death actually didn’t mean to do this, and has granted you the ability to time travel, primarily in 15 minute segments, so that you can somehow save Heaven.
This adventure game is full of funny moments and challenges that you need to meet head on, all while trying to keep the peace with the people you talk to. All this happens while, at the same time, needing to rush forward so that you can actually make it in time. When it comes to gameplay, you do get the chance to redo many moments — so if you make a mistake you can go backwards and try again. The only real thing to keep an eye on is how far you are going to go back.
You can place down one marker, so that you have a save point to jump back to, however you can only have one of those at a time, so it works as a sort of midway point if you are about to start a conversation that you might mess up. Not many of the characters within the game know about the end of Heaven, and you’ve not got much time to explain it.
It turns out that there is a way to save heaven, but it’s with a painting called The Holy Gosh Darn, which you don’t know much about at all. You will need to find out what this artifact is, how to obtain it, and get it put at the Gates of Heaven! It’s a challenge, but makes for a fun adventure.
I played the demo of The Holy Gosh Darn at WASD, which you can play right now on Steam or wishlist the game for it’s release.
