Escape From Tarkov has just released its new event in partnership with Escape From Duckov, two wildly different aesthetics but with enough similarities in both name and content that they’ve pulled together to give players a taste of what each other has to offer.
in Escape From Tarkov you can find a new quest from Jaegar: Duck Hunt, which has you eliminating roughly ten or so little ducks from a lot of different maps. Each duck will start quacking immediately, as you get close enough to hear, some are placed gently on the roofs of buildings but some are hidden in some truly interesting places like flare extracts.
It honestly feels a lot like hunting down the little frogs in Metal Gear Solid 3, with them scattered mostly around hotspots in each of the maps. You will also need to find fifteen cans of duck pâté which are honestly extremely difficult to find. I’ve managed to find all of the ducks in the event but only one can of pâté and that was from the scav case in my hideout.
Some entrepreneurial players are putting the duck pâté on the flea market for roughly 2 million rubles each, as of the time of writing, so you’re best going out into the world to find your own unless you’ve got some seriously deep pockets.
The two games crossing over isn’t just in game, as you can find both Escape From Tarkov and Escape From Duckov available at a discounted rate in a special bundle giving you the chance to try both for a 20% discount which is nice.
Alongside the discounts there are also new cosmetics available in the shop with a new outfit for both BEAR and USEC factions being available to purchase.
The Duck Hunt event seems to hint in its text that it’ll be around for a week or so and with my ears now being fine tuned to hear the call of a wayward duck I’ll spend some of that week hunting down these last cans of pâté and hopefully avoid the hefty flea cost.
