Title: Hollykiller
Developer: HoloDek Studio
[Greenlight Page]
What type of game is it?
Graphic Adventure (Point N Click)
What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
You’ve got three murders to solve, each in a distinct, early film genre; Horror, Film Noir & Alien Invasion. There’s no such thing as a linear solution however, each case is loaded with non-sequiturs, red herrings, and branching stories.
What do we like most about it?
All of the artwork in the game is hand-drawn in early comic style. Every. single. panel. Not only is that dedication and excellent design, it’s also stupendously impressive and wonderful to look at.
Anything else worth shouting about?
I really like the fact that there are multiple solutions and clues through each of the cases – it’s been great having an adventure game resurgence, but without a little variety to match the game length it becomes hard to replay a Point & Click game within any short time frame after finishing it. I can still remember my entire way through all three Discworlds, two Monkey Islands, Maniac Mansion & DOTT without being stumped for more than half a minute, and I’ve not played some of those for years. Mixing it up structurally is a bold shift, and one that could be wonderful.
When’s it due?
HollyKiller currently has no release date on the Steam page. It’s also only listed for PC.
