Classic Looking Battle Princess Madelyn Kickstarter Now Live

The Kickstarter for Battle Princess Madelyn went live yesterday for the classic looking adventure game.

Casual Bit Games have pushed their Kickstarter yesterday looking to gather CA$60,000 the 14th of April. At the time of writing this, [14:55 16/02/17] the current total sits at CA$29,874 with 525 backers. A pre-alpha will also be available to the public for sample pledging.

Casual Bit Games have teamed up with Limited Run Games to help bring some physical awards for backers. Limited Run games seem to mainly offer physical albums with some gaming cases and shirts at the moment, but I would expect them to be creating a physical jewel case of the titles soundtrack that comes from John McCarthy and Gryzor87. John was the man behind the Nintendo Quest soundtrack, and has ten years of experience in the industry. Gryzor87 has worked on projects such as Maldita Castilla, Hydorah and, The Curse of Issyos.

Actually, ya’ know what, I just found the $120 reward pack which brings a boxed set of merch. Backers with this reward will get a Battle Princess Madelyn box, featuring the PC game disc, the soundtracks on disc, a T-Shirt, a signed certificate, and a Limited Run Games PlayStation 4 Physical copy that comes with a Kickstarter exclusive cover. There’s other rewards and such available, so go and check out the Kickstarter page.

“Battle Princess Madelyn is a game that follows the journey of a young knight in training, Madelyn, and her ghostly pet dog, Fritzy.”

Inspired by titles such as Ghouls ‘N Ghosts and Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon’s Trap, this title will bring an original story and stunning hand drawn artwork  to life in a video game that is inspired by the daughter of Christopher Obritsch, Madelyn. She enjoyed Ghouls ‘N Ghosts and wanted to be within the game, so that’s exactly what Chris and his team did as part of Casual Bit Games. Bringing an old school feel that merges various gameplay styles and running on the Unity engine, Battle Princess Madelyn is looking to be an awesome title with special weapons and with ten levels, each with five stages with some hidden levels to discover. There’s also, “much, much more”

Battle Princess Madlyn is to arrive on Nintendo Switch, Wii U, PS4, PC, and Xbox One, and the release date, while not confirmed is expected to be around February 2018.
