Rise Of The Raja’s DLC Coming Next Week For Age Of Empires II HD

Forgotten Empires and Skybox Labs are releasing a new DLC for Age of Empires II HD next week on the 19th December.

The original game came out back in 1999 and is still going strong! Strong enough to warrant another DLC. The DLC in question is titled, Rise of the Raja’s and it’s looking packed to the brim with features.

  • Improved AI
  • 5 New Random Maps
  • 5 New Special Maps
  • 5 New Real World Maps
  • 13 New Terrains
  • New Scenario Editor Objects
  • Spectator Mode

There are also four new civilisations. The Burmese, the Khmer, the Malay, and the Vietnamese. All coming with their own strengths. There are four new campaigns to play, bringing exciting, and battle heavy scenarios to the game. Two new generic units make their way though, and one may be an imperial skirmisher that is a long awaited update to the Elite skirmisher; the other is an elephant! A battle elephant mind, not a normal elephant. There are also new environments to venture across and build your structures amongst them.

In addition to all these features, there are also some performance fixes, and balance fixes, to quote their Steam update area,

We’ve also added a ton of balance fixes and performance upgrades to make this new DLC the best Age II experience yet.

The DLC comes out on the 19th December and requires the base game of Age of Empires II HD. Below is the video that features gameplay in a tournament setting on the Battle for Angkor campaign.
