What type of game is it?

Adventure Platformer

What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?

Make your way across a sunless planet as you try to save the world’s innocents from the dangerous creatures threatening them.

What do we like most about it?

The game’s animation, and in general its visuals, look absolutely fantastic. Yes, the game is using the latest Unreal Engine, which does handle textures and lighting exceptionally well, but, this game stands out a lot more than the average game coming out of studios using the engine; Watch the trailer, see the creepy protagonist amble and clamber up awkward surfaces – it’s exceptionally well done.

My main concern with modern 3D Platfomers is the lack of direction given to players; The Dark Planet has a lot of light sources which appear to play into progression through the levels, however, we see a few very steep, vertical sections, and this combined with the lighting could cause issues with player pathfinding. That, however, is my only real concern regarding this otherwise nigh-perfect looking platformer.

When’s it due?

The Dark Planet is expected to release in Q4 of 2017, when it does it will do so for Windows PC.
