Gears of War 2 will be launching as a downloadable title for German Xbox owners later on this year, following the lifting of a nine-year ban on the title.
The BPjM, the panel responsible for deeming media safe for consumption by youths, has deemed the title no longer ‘youth-endangering’ and instead suitable for release for those 18 years old and over. With it lifted off of the youth-endangering index it is now ready to launch later this year.
It’s been a bumper year for Gears of War in Germany, actually, with the original removed from the index back in July; Gears of War 4 released; and now, Gears of War 2 removed from the list. Up until 2016, only GoW 3 & Judgement were available.
